Dump Voucher Program

The Dump Voucher Program is funded through the City of San Pablo and was established to help city residents maintain clean yards and homes. The City also wants residents to act responsibly when disposing of garbage. Each voucher is worth $5 towards dumping fees at the West Contra Costa Sanitary Landfill. The vouchers are in addition to the required weekly trash service provided by Richmond Sanitary Service to all residents.

Eligibility

Only residents within the jurisdiction of the City of San Pablo are eligible for the vouchers and must submit appropriate proof of residency and identification. Not all city addresses are within the jurisdiction of the City of San Pablo. Many San Pablo addresses are actually residents of the unincorporated area of Contra Costa County, and are not eligible for dump vouchers. Vouchers are funded with city taxes, and residents in unincorporated areas do not pay city taxes. To determine if you are a resident in the City of San Pablo, please call (510) 215-3030.

If you own a home within the city limits but do not live in the house, you are not eligible for dump vouchers. Only tenants of the address and homeowners that live at the address are eligible.

How Many Vouchers?

Residents of the City of San Pablo are entitled to eight (8) dump vouchers per household from July 1 to June 30. Dump vouchers expire six months from the date of issuance. Participants present vouchers to West Contra Costa Sanitary Landfill with disposables during regular landfill operating hours. A resident may request eight dump vouchers at once, but no change or credit is available once the vouchers are issued. Items in excess of voucher value will be charged at the standard rate and are the resident's responsibility.

Resident Verification Requirements

When requesting dump vouchers, be prepared to provide a current California State Drivers License or Identification Card AND a current (within 30 days) PG&E or telephone bill.

Vouchers are for residential use only, no commercial use. Vouchers are available per each residential address within the city's jurisdiction with proper resident verification. The areas of Montalvin, Rollingwood, Tara Hills, Bayview and parts of Richmond with the 94806 zip code are not located within the city limits of San Pablo and do not qualify for vouchers.
