Description of Work. These bids shall cover the furnishing of all labor, material, equipment,
mechanical workmanship, transportation and services which are required for:
Rumrill Boulevard Bridge (Replace) Project, PW-442, consisting in general of replacing the existing
Rumrill Boulevard Bridge No. 28C-0325. The existing bridge consists of a 3-span steel girder
superstructure that is approximately 77 feet wide by 70 feet long on steel frame bents and concrete
abutments. The new single-span bridge consists of a 84- foot wide by 62- foot long cast-in-place concrete
box girder superstructure with CISS concrete pile supported concrete abutments. The work includes
clearing and grubbing, building demolition, bridge removal, traffic control, surveying, exploratory
potholing, RCP storm drain work, piling, bridge construction, constructing sidewalks, curb and gutter,
grading and paving, constructing traffic striping and signs, fencing, creek bank planting and temporary
irrigation system, and modifying traffic signal system at Rumrill Blvd.lBrookside Dr.
Engineers Estimate is $2,500,000.
The UDBE contract goal is 16.46 percent.
The contractor shall possess a Class A license at the time this contract is awarded.
Prospective Bidders will have the opportunity to view the site and inspect the interior of the residential
building to be demolished at a non-mandatory pre-bid meeting at 1251 Brookside Dr., San Pablo, on
Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at 11:00 a.m.
